The Flamingo Resort and Spa is delighted to announce a special event hosted by the legendary Frequency 8 crew. The event will feature performances by dance music originators MARS and Mac Vaughn. This luxury destination event will take place in the picturesque wine country of Napa County. This event will feature techno music on Saturday night and poolside reggae music on Sunday afternoon with special guest dj Jah Yzer.

MARS

Nothing fancy here, just another raver from the Westside. Michael A. RobbinS created a new sound of EDM that helped change dance music culture in America. Considered the pioneer of Cybertrance, MARS has attained a cult-like following according to the SF Weekly, and is recognized as one of the most influential American dance music producers, particularly on the West Coast. From small beginnings, MARS played for 12 people crammed into an apartment near San Francisco, eventually performing to 45,000 fans at the LA Coliseum for New Year’s and other events like EDC. At the height of his career and while being mentioned in publications like Billboard and BuzzFeed, MARS left the music industry feeling he’d done all he could do. In 2002, MARS pursued his other lifelong passion - unmanned flight technology and eventually went on to work for Nokia-Bell Labs, Amazon, and NASA. Returning to Earth, MARS has been offered a new residency in Las Vegas at the Golden Nugget and will be soon releasing modernized Cybertrance-styled music on the highly acclaimed Cold Harbor record label.

As founder and Label Boss of Fierce Animal Recordings, a top 100 techno label, Mac has created a unique space to explore the genre's boundaries. After many years of influencing the San Francisco dance music scene, his visionary creations are now at the forefront of the global techno movement, delivering a curated experience to listeners who are tuned in.

Without doubt, DJ ICON has become an iconic figure in the U.S. dance music industry and beyond. With a career spanning two decades, she has captivated audiences across the globe with her signature heavy-hitting cross-genre sound that mixes up Breakbeat and Bass Music with Electro/Future House. With her magnetic stage presence, skillful DJ mixes and successful releases, it’s no wonder why she’s been dubbed one of the leading ladies of her domain.

Starting in 1996 at age 16, ICON diligently rose through the ranks of the San Francisco underground at a time when female DJs and promoters were few. In just a few years, her skills and growing reputation had already landed her numerous residencies in San Francisco, as well as a steady flow of stateside and international bookings. ICON has also gained success in radio and television in addition to rocking dancefloors. Among her accolades are releases on well-known labels, features in two TV series, a spot in Shejay’s “Top 100 Female DJs”, being voted one of San Francisco’s best in the Nitevibe “Top 10 DJ Dreamteam”, scoring a coveted sponsorship from Pioneer Pro DJ and building a large fanbase on her social media and Soundcloud pages.
